    Hi,

ISO published a corrected version of ISO 12215-5 as of November 2023.

The version name was ISO 12215-5:2019 Corrected version 2023-11, and the document is dedicated only to amending errors in formulae, text, and values.

    The sections and tables affected are: Clause 7, Clause 9, D.1.2, H.3.3, H.4, and Tables 12, 17, A.3, A.4, A.5, A.7, A.8, A.12, A.13, B.1, B.2, C.5, E.1, I.1 and K.1

We have analyzed the new document and reported possible mistakes in the changes and the text. We have been told that some were already reported, but others are, in fact, being considered for evaluation.

Whatever the case, we have confirmation that ISO will release a new corrected version soon. It will be potentially called ISO 12215:2019, corrected version 2024-04. This new document will amend the version released in September last year.

Some of the changes we could potentially expect in the 2024-04 corrected version are:
    • Bringing back the missing equation about stiffeners in Table 13, which is not in the 2023-11 correction but was in previous ones.
    • Adding back the "2" to the denominator of the Major Poisson's Ratio equation for E Glass CSM in Table C.5 (isotropic material theory).
    • Modification from "... which is usually 0,5 to 07 the one of outer skin" to "... which is usually 0,5 to 0,7 of the outer skin" in Table I.1 (or similar).
    • Others.

In case you find it interesting, I attach a PDF with the list of modifications we have seen when comparing ISO 12215-5:2019, corrected version 2023-11, to the previous version. There might still be some other changes (e.g., new brackets position in some equations). However, it makes sense to wait until the new correction is released, which will happen soon, to have the most updated and fullest picture!

I hope this information is helpful!
