Government doesn't have to fund dissenting views either.

Brave New Arctic: Sea ice has yet to form off of Siberia
    • This summer Siberian fires burnt 14 million hectares (54,000 square miles) of tundra — an area the size of Greece
    • In June temperatures topped 100 degrees Fahrenheit
    • Near record low sea ice extent in September, and open water within 5 degrees of the North Pole
    • For the first time since records have been kept there is still open water in the Laptev Sea off Siberia

Louisiana’s population is already moving to escape climate catastrophe

Hurricane Katrina was the most destructive natural disaster in US history. 70% of the population of New Orleans left the city immediately before and after Katrina. The city still has about 60,000 fewer residents than before the storm.

Since Katrina, Louisiana's population has been falling in high-risk parishes and growing in lower-risk ones. St. Tammany, close to New Orleans, became a staging area for emergency relief efforts, and is now one of the fastest-growing parishes in the state. Its population has quadrupled.

The state has undertaken a 90-billion dollar coastal adaptation planning process to upgrade protective infrastructure and ecosystems, which includes determining which communities are expected to disappear.

The report concluded that “Louisiana is in the midst of an existential crisis.” It recommends that low-risk areas prepare for larger populations.

China’s Chance to Save Antarctic Sea Life
    • Many studies have shown that one of the best ways to protect marine biodiversity is by declaring protected areas in parts of the oceans
    • Three new marine parks have been proposed; off the East Antarctic, around the Antarctic Peninsula and in the Weddell Sea
    • Twenty-four countries and the E.U. have agreed to create these parks
    • Crucially, China has not yet agreed to sign on

These Zombies Threaten the Whole Planet
    • Canada has committed to reducing its planet-warming carbon emissions
    • Almost half of its methane emissions come from its nearly 100,000 zombie oil wells, inactive but uncapped
    • Methane is 80-times more potent greenhouse gas than CO2
    • The number of zombie wells in Canada is growing at a rate of about 6 percent each year

So burn the methane and convert it to CO2 so it will be 1/80th as potent.

Methane stays in the atmosphere around 12 years, while CO2 stays in the atmosphere over 100 years.

Both gases need to be kept out of the atmosphere.

Both are natural components of our atmosphere so let them go before you hurt yourself.

'Sleeping giant' Arctic methane deposits starting to release, scientists find
    • Frozen methane deposits in the Arctic Ocean have started to be released over a large area of the continental slope off of Eastern Siberian
    • High levels of methane have been detected down to a depth of 350 metres in the Laptev Sea
    • Most of the bubbles were currently dissolving in the water but methane levels at the surface were four to eight times what would normally be expected
    • The potentially destabilised frozen methane raises concerns of increased global warming
