Nehrbass-Ahles and his colleagues suggest the jumps in atmospheric CO2 result from changes in a conveyor belt of ocean currents in the Atlantic Ocean. When the Gulf Stream weakens, that warm current brings less heat to North Atlantic waters. Those changes in sea-surface temperature, in turn, cause weather patterns in the tropics to shift, triggering a shrinkage of wetlands, Nehrbass-Ahles says. The carbon-rich material stored in those formerly swampy zones then decomposes, sending a pulse of CO2 into the air to warm the climate.​

The pulse of CO2 in the atmosphere warmed the climate.

Right. The article may not have said what caused the "changes in the conveyor belt of ocean currents." What it did say is that the release of CO2 is what caused the rise in temperatures.

The physics of global warming from 400,000 years ago is still the physics of global warming today.

 

And I don't agree with that. The old charts haven't changed that show CO2 follows warming.

 

Yes, you seem to have a strong impulse to post, post, post, post, post, post, post.

Maybe you should stick to bananas and peanuts -- preferably on a thread more suited to that topic.

Perhaps you could make better use of the Random Chip Thread. It seems more appropriate for the type of posts you are so fond of.
