The stilts are for weather events not climate.

I love stilt houses, extra work/play space without adding to your floor plan.

Rapid evolution may help species adapt to climate change and competition
    • One serious concern is a loss of biodiversity resulting from climate change
    • A major factor driving the loss of biodiversity is the establishment of invasive species
    • A new study shows that species can adapt rapidly to an invader and that this evolutionary change can affect how they deal with a stressful climate.
    • The interaction between a naturalized fruit fly and a recently invasive fruit fly to North America was studied
    • In just a few months, the naturalized species adapted to the presence of the invasive species, which then affected how the flies evolved when cold weather arrived
    • The next big question to be answered is whether rapid evolution can affect adaptation over the next century or two?
Results were published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences

Wow. Look how much Raindeer have evolved since then. From basically a pig to what we know as raindeer today.

Found in the mud on the Georgia coast. Probably not a dinosaur, but maybe.

Wouldn't it be something if it did turn out that dinosaurs survived until Man. Then we'd be to blame for their extinction, of course. Taste like chicken, I'll bet.

It is part of a pattern that deeply conservative religionists were the group most likely to be gullibily sucked into the QAnon nonsense. <roll eyes>

The human/dinosaur dual footprints in Hoyt's link are very obviously man-made and a fraud/hoax.

    Paluxy River
The Paluxy River became famous for controversy in the early 1930s when locals found dinosaur and supposed human footprints in the same rock layer in the Glen Rose Formation, which were widely publicized as evidence against the geological time scale and in favor of young-Earth creationism. However, these anachronistic "human" footprints have been determined to be mistaken interpretation or hoaxes.[2][3]

Mysteries of massive holes forming in Siberian permafrost unlocked by scientists
    • A massive crater appeared violently and explosively in the Siberian tundra last year, the 17th hole to appear in the Russian Arctic since the first was spotted in 2013,
    • For the first time researchers have been able to fly a drone deep into a crater
    • Researchers hypothesize that methane gas builds in a cavity in the ice, causing a mound to appear at ground level
    • The mound grows in size before blowing out ice and other debris in an explosion and leaving behind the massive crater.
    • It is still unclear if the methane come from deep layers within the Earth or closer to the surface
    • Warmer summers have weakened the permafrost layer, which acts as a cap, making it easier for gas to escape
    • Some 5% of the 327,000 square kilometers the team surveyed saw abrupt changes in landscape between 1984 and 2017. These changes included ground collapses, the formation of new lakes and disappearance of others, plus the erosion of river bends.
The research was published in the journal Geosciences
