If I am not wrong then I am sure this guy is talking about Ladenstein Yachts.
I worked for ladenstein yachts in Thailand for nearly 10 years and I can assure you that these yachts are some of the best yachts coming out of Thailand. The designer and owner of this company is a very talented designer and the boats are built to a very high standard. The company had a fall out with their Thai partners a few years back and they are trying to get back on their feet with a new investor. You can see their web site at www.ladensteinyacht.com. I can assure you that Ladenstein yachts is not a scam and a little reaserch on the internet you can find that out. They do have molds for a 85ft yacht that is nearly compleate sitting in Thailand, I know because I worked on them.

Thats quite a big assumption to make when the orginal post is from Dubai, mentions setting up a 'new' manufacturing with an 85', but no mention of other sizes if already built previous models, or even having an established history of yacht building.

To not mention any of these things considered to be critical info if one is trying to attract an investor add to that the poster failed to reply to an offer.

I seriously doubt this post being a legit opportunity or business

There is nothing on the painfully slow to down load web site about being in Thailand.

Where in Thailand is the yard.

I too am not sure if its a scam or not but the speed of a reply would have diminished any thoughts I might have had to zero.

    Ah thats Bangkok.

Crikey right up the Chaopaya river almost north of Bangkok.

Chaopaya means in English' The kings servant'

Ships travel that far under many huge bridges with 8 lane highways on them. Rama 9 bridge is a monster until a few years ago when another sprung up just as big.

Landestein is known to be out for many years; I last heard they were doing something in 2007(?). I believe that having the molds for outdated models does not make much value.

Just for info, we have launched luxury 90' yacht in 2010, and this is real existing builder.

No. My assumptions were made by the fact that they have land for a shipyard in Thailand with direct accses to the sea which I know they have. There is not currently a shipyard there but they bought the land a few years ago.

The other one I look at was that they had a 85ft molds

and then I looked up the profile of the guy posting and found the name ladenstein yachts.

As a boatbuilder my self here in Thailand I put a few things together and came to a conclusion, thats why I started off my reply with " If I am not wrong"

I do not know the guy posting ' Mike Peters' and I can't vouch for him but I do know the owner of the company very well. so if there is any doupt I suggest that you contact Markus Ladenstein directly from the website as I have known him for the last 15 years and know 100% that he is not a scam artist in any way

They stopped in Bangkok in 2007 but they then built new molds in Chonburi in 2010

Last time I did some work for them was 2010 and the design looked very nice. definately would not be outdated today

    I --means me

Our-- means me and some one else.

We-- means me and some more people.

He uses all words. And if he is serious he needs to get back and address this confusion before it spreads into roumer and incorrect assumptions that could do further damage.

Frosty, There is a aluminium boat building yard in Thailand managed by a couple of Australians brothers you may have heard of.

One brother worked in Brisbane designing CAT ferries, although having no training as naval architect, structural designer or boat builder his designs were widely accepted. His only training was apparently thru having worked in a survey office behind a desk.

He recently bugged out of Aus leaving behind some unpaid bills, seriously pissed of people and a reputation amongst boat builders for being terrible to work with.

    No-- never heard of them.

But there is many ally boat yards.

I tell you what though If I was going to build boats I would use Malaysia and I tell you why. When I got into trouble having half entered a motorcycle I got into a mess.

I could easily telephone the government offices concerned being spoken Perfect English and I even got handed over the the minister of trade and industry to discuss it. I could not do that in Thailand or even UK.

Courts and lawers use English and so is the language in English alphabet --it would not take long to learn the words.

You will never learn Thai or ever be able to read it un less you dedicate 6 hours per day for a long time.

As a buisness manage thats a sorry state to be in not being able to read your own mail and will leave you wide open.

Funny you should say that we had a lot of fun taking 74ft boats up that far along the Chaopaya river. We had to check out the tide times and leave off the radar arch until we got to ' Bak Nam'. We had only inches to spare under 1 bridge. In the end we made a radar arm that hinged so we could take the boats for sea trials and then back to the yard.

Crikey your even further up than I thought. Rama 9 must be 300 feet off the water with ships anchored under it.

Where in Chonburi? I am in Chonburi and never seen such big molds; actually all real builders get in touch with us somehow for some kind of services, as we are only one team doing design/engineering of such craft in Thailand.
