In the past few years SNAME has sponsored a variety of short courses on specific subjects at various venues including SSC, CPBS, IBEX, Launch and Recovery, the annual meeting and so on. These have included aluminum and composite structural design, stability, propeller matching, sailing yacht design and so on.

SNAME is thinking about expanding this.

I would be interested in starting a discussion on what people have to say about this including whether or not they have taken any of the courses and whether they were useful, what improvements they would like to see, what topics they would like to see, how long the courses should run, whether the course should only be at other bigger events or whether they could be self-standing and so on; whatever you all have to say about this topic.

    Thanks
