    In order for one of our clients we are looking for an Senior Project Manager Interior

    Main Purpose of Job:
    To manage the preparation and installation of multi-million pound marine outfit projects, leading (by matrix management) a contract delivery team, and achieving customer satisfaction, company profit targets and quality standards.

    Principal Tasks :
    1. Plan each project to ensure efficient utilisation of resources and labour
    2. Assess materials and labour required for project and initiate purchasing
    3. Agree final scope of project with client and provide a full specification
    4. Organise and manage project meetings from start up to close down, including regular site briefings
    5. Manage communications across the project team and wider team in line with Quality Assurance manual
    6. Take responsibility for site management with regard to personnel and work, including set up and close down
    7. Manage the project installation, monitoring and reporting on client satisfaction, cost control, and standard of work, taking action to improve where necessary
    8. Price and invoice work, noting variations to original plan
    9. Produce monthly financial and status reports in line with procedures
    10. Throughout tasks 1 – 9, maintain accurate up to date data on Navision
    11. Manage, motivate and control the performance of sub-contractors, including identification and provision of any training required
    12. Lead, motivate and manage the project team, providing clear direction and objectives, reviewing progress and providing feedback, and developing staff skills and knowledge.
    13. Communicate regularly with client to understand their needs, ensure their satisfaction, and giving early advice of any potential problems
    14. Continuously look for, encourage and suggest ways to improve the business
    15. Promote and maintain Health and Safety across projects, teams and business

    Additional job facts
    Job holder required to live close to project for duration of installation, which may be at any UK shipyard, and possibly abroad.

    Interpersonal contact
    With: clients, team members - all levels and all departments, sub contractors, suppliers
    How: face to face, (meetings and one to one), email, phone

    Essential requirements of job holder:
    • Demonstrable experience of successfully managing projects in excess of £6m value, ideally, but not essentially, in the marine and/or interior outfitting industries.
    • Demonstrable experience of managing and developing others, ideally including sub-contract labour and crafts people, eg joiners, machinists, steel workers, plumbers etc
    • Demonstrable experience of improving situations, processes and people
    • Ability to command respect whilst being approachable.
    • Ability to both lead teams and be a team player.
    • Able to understand and work with figures, costs, ratios, percentages
    • Good communication and relationship skills
    • Ability to make clear decisions based on good analysis of available information
