    Dear knowledgable forum
I am installing a 10hp volvo penta in my sailboat. It was made in 2005 and I am guessing the rubber motor mounts are of same age. The engine has run 370 hours. Some say the mounts are definitely due to be replaced after this time. Others say that they are worn by motor hours, rather than by age.
    So:
Does age or running hours wear rubber motor mounts?
What is a normal interval for replacing?
Is there a way for me to find out if mine are worn or still in good service?
A set of new ones is 200 dollars, so it's worth researching, but not worth skimping if it in fact makes a difference.
    Kindly
    Per Runhammar
