    Boatbuilding in Your Own Backyard by S. S. (Sam) Rabl has been re-issued by Echo Point Books & Media http://www.echopointbooks.com/product/boatbuilding-in-your-own-backyard/ which is good news. Current price direct from the publisher is $21.95 for paperback, $29.95 for hardback, though you can find it at higher prices on eBay.

    Boatbuilding in Your Own Backyard has plans for eleven boat and is a good introduction to traditional wooden boatbuilding. Some of the information on other topics shows the vintage it was rewritten and updated (1947 and 1958).

    I have this book and the information is a bit dated, but there's still lots of good stuff in it for the novice.
