It will be a nice boat. Good job!

 

The transom needs detailing for tender handling, swim ladder and boarding plank.

Perhaps study the Jongert style. It is simply the best thought out stern detailing in the business.

The transom like you show it is option for this boat

 

20 meter motorsails , with all the "stuff" onboard , become short and fat. The transom extension makes the boat look longer and is very functional.

 

Too high freeboard me thinks..

 

Oh, and the BIG windward staysail is a nice detail. Keep the sheet leeds inboard. No reason why a cruiser cant sail to windward.

Nice rendering. Any design drawings done yet? Depending on your materials, I can see some interesting design challenges around the forward portlights in respect to deck beams, headlinings etc. Also shaft line looks a bit flat.

Why do such a traditional looking hull with a modern looking house? Clipper bow, bunch of hollow in forward waterlines, small stern. Rig looks small.

I personally prefer the looks of the model in your link. But it is a matter of taste. This forum, for example, is full of people who like and ask for designs of old timers...

 

Actually I prefer the old timer stern detailing solution. The modern boats with stern doors or goofy tenders stuck in foredeck wells are dogs to operate. Designers spend a whole lifetime devolping the skill to draw an elegant sheerline or elegant wheelhouse, then they are asked to plop an ugly, toe stubbing , sheet catching rubber boat into the foredeck Those old Jongerts are a joy to operate. The ones design by Peterson sail well. They are destined to be " classics"
