Thanks DC. I have my bulkhead stationing set. I am working on adding an anti-trip chine back into it (will be very similar to yours) and getting the hull side view lines like I want them. I think I may copy one of the new cat models. We'll see how that looks.

About the anti-tripping chines: It's not only a question of what happens when you make a "planned" turn, more important is the reaction to a wave impact that you didn't see coming. There have been a number of incidents with early style Hickmans rolling over sideways; pure stupidity to risk that. In addition, the atc's generate a slight outwards flow direction that reduces the side-wetting that is increasing the drag for a "pure" inverted-V hull.

Side wetting creates enough drag to matter in a boat like this. After everything is glassed over large radii, I'd suggest getting the upper chines sharp again, or even adding a spray rail.

Does the spray rail cause side wetting to decrease? It would need to be in the water as it's under way to wouldn't it?

Okay - took all morning and a million undos but it does not look messed up anymore.

Anyone see any issues with this? Any suggestions?

Mrs. Geno earned her doctorate from FSU and accepted a faculty position at the University of Alabama.

We got moved back into our house in Tuscaloosa, AL and discovered that it was a wreck from a family member living in it and "taking care of it for us". LOL. I now have months of work to get back to where I started from. I would have been building by now but it's going to take a while. If I had to guess, it'll be a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of a year before I get started.

You're very welcome BlueBell. I'm still lurking around a bit but not as often as I should I'm sure.

Fished some last weekend from my ancient sportspal 14.

I have a few different iterations of the two plan sets drawn using the free boat design software. I'm going to tweak it a bit more before I start cutting plywood. The Texas Sled/Laguna Tiger hull form is very pleasing to my eye with their smooth and sleek curves. I'm going to use that hull form as the basis and raise the sides to more or less match the Hickman Sled. It will make a nice high freeboard, raise the deck some due to carrying the vee through the transom and do my own interior layout.

The beam on the Hickman Sea Sled (HS-18) is too narrow for my needs, the freeboard on the Texas Sled (TX-18) is too short and I wish to carry the inverted v all the way through the hull as seen on the Laguna Tiger produced by Duckmaster, Inc.
