    Butt Ugly

    Hello...
At least my TSB's play on a somewhat normal looking hull form...
The houses have not been developed but they too would play on classic shanty or work boat bits...
I loved Bolger - but sometimes I think I would not have liked to have had a drink with him...:)
    I got an our cost of $7.00 per square foot on 5ft x 20ft - 3/16 - 5086 aluminum...
Cut it - tack it - close it - your done - who needs paint...
About 3,000 bucks for the entire hull skin - sweet...
No goo - no glop - very manly - resale value...:)
Launching a welded aluminum Stryker sportfish 38 - tommorow - will post some pics - looks great...

    I thought you might object.....most people do.:D
I`m really thinking about building it ....great comfort ,and just think ,
How many people you would P#ss off when you "park" next to them.

Watervan is actually REALLY comfortable and would be great to use.
I saw the first one built , here in OZ.

BTW , A TSB hull skin for 3 large ....Excellent!

    F'ck Off...

    Hello...
I am a big and tough boat builder - for a few more years at least - but that bloody made me cry - **** and F'uck you...
I have no idea how people feel regarding Bolger taking his life - we cannot relate to one life - he was his own man in so many damned ways...
I respect what he did for himself - I cannot say that it was honourable - I cannot speak for the man or for his loved ones...
What I feel - is that he made a choice not to lay in a bed ridden state - hooked up and bothered by student MD's...
I AM SORRY - but for me - that is an honourable life choice...
As for Boat Fan - I am so sorry - but the Bolger Watervan is just ugly - yet you like same - so - I am posting you an Xmas card in advance - should print to 11 x 8.5 - INCHES - CDN landscape ...:)
I mean - but - that thing is just butt F'cking ugly...:)
PS. - for Gonzo - the 'illegal' urinal is a go - find me and fine me...:)

He will always be honorable to me.

    In his own words :

We've found that there is not much point in arguing about the aesthetics of
something like this. You like it, you hate it, or you can or can't quite tolerate
it. But we will argue with conviction and from experience and expertise that
there is nothing un seamanlike about it. It can't be compared with anything
of equivalent space efficiency because there is nothing afloat that can match
her. But she will run faster, with less disturbance behind her, with better
control and no more discomfort in rough water, than most small, fast power
cruisers. She is not a clumsy floating house. Any objections to it have no
objective basis. The effect on the scenery of a fleet of them is legitimately
    arguable.

I would not risk taking it anywhere except VERY sheltered waters way way up a little stream... but for those who think SUV's are cute well:?: - that is your choice  :?:

    Cute ?

Cute ???????Don`t think anyone would claim that Mas....

As for the seaworthy thing ..I think it would surprise a lot of people.

    Including you Mas.

Far more seaworthy than what people would like to believe in fact.
This challenges a lot of people that think they know what seaworthy means.
Go ahead throw your stones .........

I actually don`t think its as ugly as what most people pretend.
It`s interesting and amusing to observe that no winnebago gets that kind of over-reaction ....
It`s only because we are not used to seeing something that makes TOO MUCH sense.
Anyway I wouldn`t care what people say. When you look out of those windows , ........

I actually stood inside it at Duck Flat when they built the very first one .
They only had paint left to do , so you could get a real " feel" for the interior.
All I can say is ....remarkable boat !

Read carefully first , and please keep an open mind.

Lengthy read , but from bolger himself:

Have a Mercedes Sprinter camper parked in Germany, and have travelled there via yacht and the motorhome way is wayyyy superior.

The freedom,& convenience with a motorhome is unmatchable with a yacht,as well as being a fraction of the cost.
