l noticed you are from Ottawa. The boat is located in Carleton Place at my mothers house.l live in Embrun but could arrange to show it to you. I would have to drive there to take recent pics for you so just as easy to show you the real mccoy and possibly just put it in the Mississippi for a spin because its only 1/4 mile from the boat launch.Boat was used right up till the end of last year there. This is great, I was just going to post my boat for sell on craig's list last night, when I decided to do some research and see what other people were selling theirs for. To my surprise, I found the website and saw that they are bringing them back.

I have a 1976 round nose with a 35hp Evinrude, and it's been a great boat and I would rather have it go to someone who appreciates the boat for it's uniqueness and history. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to spend up at my parents cottage as I used to, and other than putting it in the water once or twice a year, its just sitting in the garage.

I see this is an old thread hope it is still active. I am purchasing a 1970 Humber Jewel. It currently has a 40hp Mercury on it and takes a lot to get on plane. Where can I find out information on this boat? length, weight, Preferred HP.. will a 50 be good or do I need to go to a 60?

Do you still have the Humber jewel in Carleton ? If you can compare to the one I own, is there anyway you would happen to know which year mine was made. Also can I see a picture of yours if possible ? TY

I need help figuring out which year in was manufactured so I may have it legally registered here in Sudbury, Ontario along with any other info I may need before actually go to the ministry. If you open this link you will see a very amateurish video of my Humber with the 50hp Evinrude coming out of the hole, planing, and hitting top speed of 31mph in about 3 secs my guess !
Also when I come to a full stop quick, I'll have some water enter the square hole in front of the engine but never does it ever get the interior of my Jewel wet !
