How to know if a design's righting moment is enough?

    Force proportional to projected surface area is correct. However, it is not linear. Further, the righting arm of the keel increases as the boat heels; also not linear.

    The wind inclining arm also varies when the boat is heeling. MCA considers that wind inclining moment varies as a cos 1.3(heel angle) function.
