Does anyone have sizing equation for freeing ports. All I have is an old ISO equation related to deck area. Any insights would be helpful!

    Tom,

I've been chasing similar info and came across this series of articles/letters in Professional Boatbuilder. I suggest reading in the order listed. This isn't a direct answer to your question, and I haven't reviewed/researched this material in detail, but I think it should give a point(s) of departure for further investigation.

ABYC has a standard for cockpit drains and scuppers which includes a standard for how quickly they have to drain the cockpit. Its H-4 Cockpit Drainage Systems. Www.abycinc.org
