    If you are a shipbuilding engineer, isn't it your job to design boats? What kind of help do you need?

    PAR Yacht Designer/Builder

    He could be a systems engineer Gonzo and builder, so not necessarily sufficiently skilled to design a full up project. You fastest route is to get a set of plans for a known type and make the upgrades you feel necessary for your needs. If you insist on self designing, you'll need some courses to come up to speed on hydrodynamics and structure. I say this in light of your previous questions about design. You've previously asked some pretty basic volumetric questions, which lead me to wonder about how much you know or need to know, before perusing a full up commercial design. A two year course could get you up to speed, but if you don't have this kind of time to place in an engineering discipline, purchasing a set of known plans will get you running quickly enough.

    Hi,
    Thanks a lot to gonzo for your reply. I need a lines plan of work boat which principle dimension is blew:-

    Length = 13M
    Breadth = 5.2M
    Depth = 2M

    Regards

    Just a few questions;

    Speed requirements?
    what kind of work will they be doing on the boat?
    how far ofshore will this boat go?
    what is the preffered displacement?

    Kind regards,

    Feenstra

    Oh no, just the lines.

    He said it was a dredger. I doubt if that includes offshore work he also included LOA etc. Speed ? your kidding.

    He comes from Bangladesh and has asked for help not ridicule.

    No Frosty, he wants a dredger transport. The OP doesn't seem to know enough about ships to give the basic specifications. He may be, as PAR says, a systems engineer, but should still have the basic understanding through working at a shipyard.

    Have a look.
    The total charge that can carry a so smaller dredger, will not compensate, probably, its construction.

    You are showing a dredge. I think the poster wants something to transport a dredge. Maybe there is a language difficulty, and he wants a barge to transport the spoils.

    You're probably right. In this case, the barge will serve to transport a not bigger than 7 m long dregger, or a very small amount of spoil, if we consider the hopper forming these discharges. In my drawing we can remove the suction elements, and we will get a very nice barge.
    Perhaps with all these speculations, we'll help navalmonir to find what he is looking for.
