thanks pericles. There's an old aquarama which had 320 horse crusaders I believe and did 35 knots. If they are replaced with 220 horse Yanmar Diesel's . will it still do 25knots

Do you know the current weight of the boat, with Crusaders? It should be something like 3200 kg (7000 lbs), but I would like to see it confirmed by you.
Anyways, with the speed and HP numbers form the first post and the estimated current weight of 3200 kg, the Crouch formula says that with a right set of props the new engines should push you to 28-30 kts.
    Cheers

The 1988 Aquarama Special (8.75 x 2.59 x .63m) was about 6000 pounds with twin Riva 350 gas engines of 355 HP, and she would do a max of 44 knots. That's published data from Riva.

    Peter,

If I were a betting man, I'd be wagering you are up to something. You are one damn fine boat builder & your disingenuous enquiry about a Riva leads me to suspect you are about to resurrect a wreck. Not that you need it, I offer this inspiration "On days like these" from your namesake, Peter Freebody.

    What might have been?
