how to calculate bow-stern static floating angle?

    Hi Guys,
    I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction here.
    I am wondering how to calculate the bow to stern angle the boat will sit at when floating in calm water. I know approx the dims for the CofG and the weight of the boat is it possible to estimate the angle in the water?

    The full reason for this is , I am trying to calculate the waterline position on a boat. I know the displacement and I have good drawings of the hull so I can slice the hull up with multiple sections to get the volume to match the weight of the boat. But I know the boat sits on the water on a slight angle due to the outboard engines etc being heavy at the stern. So I need to estimate the angle to slice the sections into.

    Any help much appreciated.

    You need to perform a center of masses calculation(s) so you can "trim out" the hull at the LWL you desire, typically by moving things around, trimming ballast or the volume and distribution of weight in a ballast casting.

    It would be helpful if we knew what you were working. In short much more information about the hull and how it's equipped.

    Study the hydrostatics science more carefully, specifically, the factor "moment to trim one inch" (or one centimeter, depending on your units). This will help you find your answer.
