Applying finishing resin LATER over laminating to prevent clogging?

If I overcoat a polyester laminating resin a day or a month later with a waxed finishing resin, will that prevent sandpaper from clogging? Won't that sticky layer of the laminating resin surface just be buried and still clog if the sandpaper grinds through it?

    Thanks

Once you block off the air with the final layer, the sticky stuff should cure

If it's still sticky it will cure and not clog the paper, but like in my answer before, most polyesters should be tack free (at least enough to sand) a week or so after being applied if catalyzed correctly.
