How much hp to plane?

    Interesting, using the bhp/w ratio as coeff for different types of propulsion systems. Do you use any ceoff for the style of boat, like in the Crouch estimates?

    all the boats are chine type and each point corresponds to a single top speed of a single boat. So doing you have the possibility to observe that the l.c.g. and other characteristics have a small influence on top speed.
    I have recorded more that 100 boats..
    I have designed a lot of boats with all 4 propulsion systems and for these I have all whole the KR vs speed curve.
    Estimating an OPC for these various propulsion systems (OPC vs speed) it is possible to evaluate a bare hull resistance curve for each boat.

    Hey im glad you guys were able to use this info,sorry it took so long to get it on here.i think if more people gave info on thier boats it would help in a design phase
