And it's all the tougher during these drug wars.

Has anyone suggested using the returning US soldiers to ramp up the "War on
Drugs" in Mexico and adjoining states? I'm not saying that would be a good
thing, or productive. It just sounds like it would be on some loopy politician's
agenda.

 

I call them sheeple because they take the cowardly course (please doctor, put my pet to sleep. I'm too sensitive to take him out back and shoot him myself), not because they are sheepheaded (stupid).

 

The recent mafia wars in Mexico are because of the depressed economy in the US. These were mexican gangs in the US that returned to Mexico for better pickings after US dried up. Now they're fighting each other and the government over "turf". Gov is slowly winning. By attrition. Slaughter from all sides is wearing the gangs down.

We just get the "scoreboard" and very little analysis of the root causes in our media.

(Of course, there is the very interesting show "Breaking Bad", but I don't know how close to the truth that is.)

 

Public transportation is very important in Mexico. Luxury busses include "in flight" movies. The mafias retalliating against govt attacks capture buses and slaughter all the passengers. Then the govt sends in troops and slaughters 50 or 100 mafia members. These gangs were large organizations of 1000s members. Not any more. Most of the antipathy of americans against mexicans was because of these criminals. Most of the drug traffic, car theft rings, other crime was their doing. The bad economy at least seems to be having a positive effect in something.

 

So when the US economy recovers, it will be business as usual?

 

Hopefully not. Hopefully these "mafia" (they call themselves that) will be wiped out. Hopefully they won't ever be permitted to start up again.
The bigger problem is perception. Americans tend to think all mexicans are low life evil thieving drug pushing murderers because these mafia were the mexicans they encountered in the states.
The mexican workers in the states stayed quiet and to themselves, mostly invisible, because they were illegal.

 

Mexicans from top government officials to the lowliest street begger would come unglued at the very notion of American troops on Mexican soil, shooting Mexicans -- even narcos. The entire country would unite against us....

Mexico hasn't faired very well when american troops showed up. They lost Texas, California, New Mexico, Arizona, hmmm what other lands did we steal from Mexico? Troy?

 

The RINO Republicans were wrong to propose it too. Just as it is wrong to expect government to buy someone a new liver just because that someone wasted his with alcohol and drugs and can't afford another one.
