How about a human powered Ekranoplan?

    I found this to be relevant.

    Look what it takes to get airborne on human power. Worth looking to the end - helps realize how specialized, and otherwise compromised structure was needed to make this possible.

    Further to SAIL powered wing in ground effect flight.
    It looks to me from this photo below
    like somebody HAS at least tried it.
    Great big lift wing close to the water!
    Not sure about the rocker on those hulls though.
    Further detective work has unveiled that it attended Weymoth Speedweek twice in the 90s attaining... 15 and 16 knots respectively.
    I'm trying to buy the remains. I thought the hulls might be usable for a kiteboat or a nice little folding electric river launch or something similarly sedate (Perhaps with a little less ... beam.) 6715.jpg
