I'm looking for some information on the Hood 23 centreboard. Firstly, were they plain steel or of construction rather like the rudder - namely a stainless steel post and ribs encased in a fibreglass/epoxy body? Secondly, how are they hung and removed - is there an angled slot near the top of the leading edge that normally contains the pivot pin? If so, does the centreboard have to be raised a little from normal in a near vertical position when removing/replacing the board? Are their any special tricks involved and how much does the board weigh? Anyone have any drawings or photographs or experience doing same? I'm slightly daunted by the prospect.
