I'm looking for a simple plan for a wooden yacht.
I want to build a model, in order to understand the needs and ways to build a full scale wooden yacht.

The plans do not need to be fully detailed, i'm more interest in the hall and decks, less in the mast and interior.

If anyone can send me a link for such plans i will be more then thankful :)

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Welcome to the forums Mike!

    What length?

Are you looking for free plans or are you willing to pay for better quality or plans for exactly what you are looking for?

Is this a model-only project or are you building a model before building the same as a full size boat?

If you are looking for 100% free plans, take a look at http://boatdesign.net/Directory/Boat_Plans/Free_Boat_Plans/ and specifically http://hometown.aol.com/polysail/HTML/oldboats.htm and http://www.svensons.com/boats/ and maybe http://www.smallboatdesign.co.uk/ though free plans in general tend to be for plywood construction (easy for the home boatbuilder) and smaller boats. If it's a model only project you might be able to make due with a design catalogue or books, but as a learning experience you'll probably want the details too, so it might be worth it to invest some money in a great set of plans (especially if you'll be building the full version someday.)

Maybe someone else can give you some better leads as well.

    Hi Jeff.

    Thanks for the welcome :)

At this time i want to build a model in order to understand the needs and ways to build a wooden boat.

My plan is to build an exact replica of a real wooden yacht.
    Only much much smaller.

The interior is not interest me at this time i'm more interested in the hall and decks.

Plans for a full yacht cost about 1000$+ (even 2000$).so at the moment it is out of the question.

I think (and that what i'm doing at the moment :)) that i can always make up designs and simply to work on my craftsmanship.

However i have some dilemmas that plans will answer.

Do you know where i can find plans (for free), or at least study case (if it contains the hall and decks shape)?

    Thanks.
    Mike
