Hydrostatic Calc

for a commercial vessel, like container / bulk carrier,
is it required by the rule , the appendages volume ( specially Rudder )will be included in hydrostatic Table for the ship displacement ?

 

In general, the bulb (fore and aft) is included in the calculations but not the rudder, or the axes struts. But you must indicate somewhere that the calculations is "without appendages" You must also indicate whether you have taken into account or not the hull thickness.

 

Hull Appendages include Rudder, Propeller and Skeg (if it is there) can be included in the hydrostatics calculation

 

The question was : "is it required by the rule".
My answer is : It is not mandatory and, of course, depends on the volume of the appendage.

Thanks both of you. I have also just review some class approved documents that the hydrostatic table do not include appendage volume.
