Hello folks! Glad to have found this forum! I have been wanting to build a small 2 man boat (fishing in local lakes) but am having trouble finding good plans. I'd like something simple as my first boat. I am an intermediate level woodworker. I have reviewed stitch and glue techniques, but am not crazy about all that fiberglass work. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

http://instantboats.com/ Phil Bolger's designs, prototyped by Harold Payson. They're well drawn plans, easy to build for an amateur to intermediate craftsman. Some are fibreglassed but most are plain plywood-and-lumber designs; one of the nice features of many Bolger boats is that the construction jig and the hull structure are one and the same so no separate jig is needed. http://www.instantboats.com/skiff12.htm would seem to suit your conditions.
