    It's a matter of perspective.

All geosims work, 100% of the time - the scaling. But will the geosim hull once scaled down/up to the size that fits the SOR, will it still work? That's the 'design' side.

Any hull(s) can be geosimed up and now in size as required. But, will it meet the SOR....this is true for whether the hull is a geosim or a brand new hull.

The whole issue of scaling becomes more difficult when including dynamic lift from foils. Couple that with the fact that there have been so few hydrofoil-assisted small-waterplane vessels (single or twin-hull) actually built and tested....information covering the design of them is pretty scarce.

We built one low-waterplane-area foil-assisted monohull and tested it extensively for a couple of years. But with a foilborne lift fraction of around 80%, our craft was very much a single "data point" and quite different from, for example, the HYSWAS craft built by MAPC for NSWCCD...itself pretty much a singular "data point"..
