hi new guy here .hope someone can help.ive just fitted a rebuild quadra jet carb on my 5.7l chevy.i'm now finding it hard start, when it dose start it will only tick over.any kind over throttle put on just kills the engine.i found that if i disconnected the linkage to the white plastic pull off?,the engine would rev.i opened up the carb and it as 67jets in it ,i should also mention the engine has larger valves, flat top pistons and ahigh lift cam any ideas would be greatful.

sounds like you have a vacuum leak or are running too lean. Is the choke working correctly? Once it warms up does it run better?
