Havana houseboats is a dumb name.. And I can say that as a son of a Cuban. Call them High speed house boats, or run a contest on forum for people to come up with a name.

    Tampon House boats... Ha ha...

Believe it of not. Half a world away, I have a neighbor in a similar looking thing he made from a pontoon boat. My only concern living in south Florida is what is he going to do if a Hurricane comes. Perhaps sinking it would be the best option. He can refloat it after the storm passes .

    Self promoting - HELL YES!!!

Sorry for posting it in the wrong forum, obviously offended a few of you!
As for the comment of dumb name the company is named after my daughter, hate to take the wind out of your sails mate but nothing to do with you or Cuba.

Ps. Don't think you should be commenting on dumb names "mydauphin" ?????

I'll be more direct this time, how about paying for your advertising, as this site could use the endorsements and you should earn your counter hits.

In general, a self-promoting thread belongs in the press-release forum. This is so advertising or blatant self-promotion don't overtake discussion, help, and advice in the other forums.

The exception is a thread which details an active build which is fine for the Boatbuilding forum -- threads which include a good description of the project, narrative of the process, and photos along the way are great. I think it's enjoyable to see a project coming together so whether or not those threads have a promotional benefit too, they are fine for the main boatbuilding forum - but they need to have some real "meat" to make them interesting rather than strictly commercial or promotional.

    M/Y Dauphin... ha ha

I can appreciate you naming company after daughter. If I did that my company would be called Myriam Marine, not the image I would want to portray. You do what is important to you obviously. By the way it is a good idea, wish you luck. If you were closer I would sell some for you.

After 58 posts, I'd think you might have a clue about "all this", Matt.
