Matching cross-fade Gelcoat

    I am repairing an area of hull that has a color shifting gel coat. It graduates from a medium grey into black.
    Any advice on how to achieve this two tone affect will be appreciated. 15028985073141483201576.jpg
    I have done in mold cross fades, but how do I maintain the surface plane?
