I am looking for some small pieces of wood from a well known old sailing ship. I am a woodturner as a hobby, and would like to make a gift pen for a friend who loves old sailing ships. He has large pictures of them in his office. Can you help me?

The Cutty Sark Trust sells items made from old bits taken from the ship during restoration. Perhaps for a donation they will provide you with an small unworked piece with its history.

Other places to try would be maritime and boat museums like the USS Constitution Museum in Charlestown Conn.
