It doesn't have to be true if it's propaganda: somewhere down there in the flames Goebbels is chuckling in between stabs from a trident . . .

Just for Boston, because I know he needs an explanation of the pun in the title of my post. Witness his #1190 opening sentence.

Do you guys ever actually look into the stuff your told or is reading just to much trouble.

    Correction.

Do you guys ever actually look into the stuff you’re told, or is reading just too much trouble?

    Ordure (of Easily Negotiable Virtue)

    1. excrement; dung
    2. something regarded as being morally offensive

[via Old French, from “ord” dirty, from Latin “horrid us” shaggy]

Boston, here is some Shakespeare for you, “ The empty vessel makes the most sound”. Any idea what it means?

    typical denial tactic
Means you have no idea what your talking about

    so I'm curious
What is it about the theory that you find so difficult to understand. Any particular part you don't like or is it just that you blindly don't believe it cause its what the coal industry told you to do.

    Its really very simple

    CO2 is a greenhouse gas
greenhouse gasses can only have one response in the environment
Humans are responsible for the excess greenhouse gas over the last say 200 years
    temps are increasing
if they increase to far the system reacts
history shows that reaction results in mass extinctions

so what part are you having trouble with

Carboniferous or not, if the temp is going up as you say, Greenland, Canada, and Russia will be warmer. Eric's scam (and my sucking into it) notwithstanding.

Crimson fish, crimson fish (Thanks Troy).

What kind of a boat would you all want to explore northern Canada shore?

What difference will a POLL make? Facts have never been concerned about a POLL. Facts have never much been concerned about theorys either.

Gone, I just wanted to see if I could predict the responses.

Sorry, I couldn't help one last (I hope) question.

    Boston,
What do you want, human suicide, or just retreat to the Neanderthal way of living?

exactly what I'm hoping can be prevented.

    and

yup they sure will, and all those million and millions of acres of frozen tundra which is more like frozen marshland will thaw and release huge quantities of CH4 which will raise the temp even more.

you wouldn't want to be near the shore or even on the water once things warm beyond a certain point. Dr Jeremy Jackson does a great video lecture called "A Brave New Ocean" thats well worth watching if you wish to understand why.

And a lot of that tundra is in Russia and Siberia where climate change is not a significant political issue. In fact, it doesn't rate in the top ten concerns for Russians the last time I looked.
