Hi, What is the Global V line and Local V line? I need to submit this drawing/calculation for a passenger-vessel along with probabilistic damage stability. I looked into the BV rules, however, I am not sure how to represent these in the booklet.

I found in the rule book that
    • "Watertight V-lines" derived from equilibrium heel angle limit (final or intermediate stages of flooding)
    • "Weathertight V-lines" derived from positive range limit (of GZ-curve)

    Please help.

Is it possible, Global V line and Local V line, refer to a difference in International and local national regulated methods of calculation or equations used.?

    Dear,
I don't think so. The attached figure says it is related to watertight and weathertight openings. BV stability software shows an explanation like the following but I am still confused.
