Just remember that his cronies are those capitalists for whose ideas you fight passionately. And that in turn makes you kind of inconsistent, if you catch my point...

And what's with marijuana now being "medicinal" herb un the evil and bad old usa? Compared to coca it has **** all medicinal properties. How come usanians can have their marijuana and drug themselves stupid, yet south americans who use coca in its natural non-halucinogenous state, cannot?

    Another inconsistency (hypocrisy).

This is the kind of reasoning i' ve applied to conclude that the most petro dependant places (us) will fall the hardest, and so am moving out of here to somewhere where oil consumption is far lower. People are already used to it and have not got so far to fall.

And Mark, i suppose you have intimate knowledge of PR in order to justify your opinions?

In reading this a person can't help but wonder if they are not exclusively the reason and source of the worlds financial problems and meltdown. I've been looking for reliable sources on the subject and just can't seem to be able to pull them up. But there are sure enough indicators pointing their way to make a person really wonder..........

    Actually, yes

...but most of my knowledge comes from friends and relatives who have escaped from there because they wanted to do more than kowtow to tourists while living in squalor. A tourist pretty much just sees beautiful resorts owned by big US chains. I see why you are bitter, tho. Have you examined what is inside of YOU to source your ire?

Excellent article, well picked bamby. I doubt that GS would be exclusively responsible for the debacle, but there's certainly no doubt they did play their part in it. A big part, according to the article.

These people are circulating from one chair to another so it is more the persons rather than the "companies" or "organisations" who screwed up big time.

It is never the fault of a system per se'. Capitalism or communism, it makes no difference if people are bent on screwing it up for their own benefit.

Those mothersuckers count on the sheep to be brainwashed, made paranoidally affraid of themselves (and everyone/thing else) and hooked on **** food for a quick fix of their government- induced mental delusions.

Criminal's paradise. Wan't Al Capone the one who said that compared to the government he's just a small fish?

I don't know how Mass missed this one. Seems Wall Street and U.S. government are hand in hand working to destroy the financial system. I don't truly understand the stock market in all it's complexity. But I do know and understand right from wrong, and what amounts to stealing. It's a good read in my opinion though a bit long. But then how can one include so many details about all the manipulations going on in Wall Street in a few short paragraphs? They are all thieves......

    Wall Street's Naked Swindle
A scheme to flood the market with counterfeit stocks helped kill Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers — and the feds have yet to bust the culprits

Bamby, Tho when one theives in a market economy, he is to be punished and everybody moves on. When the theive is complicit in making his own rules, when he is also the government and now, under this particularly criminal administration, covertly and openly attacking the aspects that are fair and good under the guise of correcting a professed failing, well...that is when the gov is no better than a two-bit South-American dictatorship. Madison, Bush, and Carter (One could argue the Nafta aspects of Bill Clinton) were the worst presidents until now but this slime-ball will make them look like rookies because he combines Mao, the biggest killer of all time, with his ineptitude. Like you said, "We live in interesting times."
Generators, ammo (.22 is good - the guns are cheap, the ammo cheap and small), water, think of everything you would need for an extended camping trip - but a farming camping trip, I suppose some non-hybrid seeds, and some place "they" can't easily get to. Then, we need to try and stop these F'ers.

How's this for apocalyptic literature. This was written by a pastor's

wife in biblical prose as a commentary of current events. It is

    brilliant.

    ------------------------

And it came to pass in the Age of Insanity that the people of the land

called America , having lost their morals, their initiative, and their

will to defend their liberties, chose as their Supreme Leader that

    person known as "The One."

He emerged from the vapors with a message that had no meaning; but He

hypnotized the people telling them, "I am sent to save you." My lack

of experience, my questionable ethics, my monstrous ego, and my

association with evil doers are of no consequence. I shall save you

with hope and Change. Go, therefore, and proclaim throughout the

land that he who proceeded me is evil, that he has defiled the nation,

and that all he has built must be destroyed. And the people rejoiced,

for even though they knew not what "The One" would do, he had promised

that it was good; and they believed. And "The One" said " We live in

the greatest country in the world. Help me change everything about it!"

And the people said, "Hallelujah! Change is good!"

Then He said, "We are going to tax the rich fat-cats." And the

people said "Sock it to them!" "And redistribute their wealth." And

the people said, "Show us the money!" And then he said, "

redistribution of wealth is good for everybody."

And Joe the plumber asked, " Are you kidding me? You're going to

steal my money and give it to the deadbeats??" And "The One"

ridiculed and taunted him, and Joe's personal records were hacked and publicized.

One lone reporter asked, "Isn't that Marxist policy?" And she was

    banished from the kingdom!

Then a citizen asked, "With no foreign relations experience and

having zero military experience or knowledge, how will you deal with

radical terrorists?" And "The One" said, "Simple. I shall sit with

them and talk with them and show them how nice we really are; and they

will forget that they ever wanted to kill us all!" And the people

said, "Hallelujah!! We are safe at last, and we can beat our weapons

into free cars for the people!"

Then "The One" said "I shall give 95% of you lower taxes." And one,

lone voice said, "But 40% of us don't pay ANY taxes." So "The One"

said, "Then I shall give you some of the taxes the fat-cats pay!"

And the people said, "Hallelujah! Show us the money!"

Then "The One" said, "I shall tax your Capital Gains when you sell

your homes!" And the people yawned and the slumping housing market

collapsed. And He said. "I shall mandate employer-funded health care

for every worker and raise the minimum wage. And I shall give every

person unlimited healthcare and medicine and transportation to the

clinics." And the people said, "Give me some of that!"

Then he said, "I shall penalize employers who ship jobs overseas."

And the people said, "Where's my rebate check?"

Then "The One" said, "I shall bankrupt the coal industry and

electricity rates will skyrocket!" And the people said, "Coal is

dirty, coal is evil, no more coal! But we don't care for that part

about higher electric rates." So "The One" said, Not to worry. If

your rebate isn't enough to cover your expenses, we shall bail you out.

Just sign up with the ACORN and you troubles are over!"

Then He said, "Illegal immigrants feel scorned and slighted. Let's

grant them amnesty, Social Security, free education, free lunches,

free medical care, bi-lingual signs and guaranteed housing..." And

the people said, "Hallelujah!" and they made him king!

And so it came to pass that employers, facing spiraling costs and

ever-higher taxes, raised their prices and laid off workers. Others

simply gave up and went out of business and the economy sank like unto

a rock dropped from a cliff.

The bank banking industry was destroyed. Manufacturing slowed to a

crawl. And more of the people were without a means of support.

Then "The One" said, "I am the "the One"- The Messiah - and I'm here

to save you! We shall just print more money so everyone will have

enough!" But our foreign trading partners said unto Him. "Wait a

minute. Your dollar is not worth a pile of camel dung! You will have

to pay more... And "The One" said, "Wait a minute. That is

unfair!!" And the world said, "Neither are these other idiotic

programs you have embraced. Lo, you have become a Socialist state and

a second-rate power. Now you shall play by our rules!"

And the people cried out, "Alas, alas!! What have we done?" But yea

verily, it was too late. The people set upon The One and spat upon

him and stoned him, and his name was dung. And the once mighty nation

was no more; and the once proud people were without sustenance or

shelter or hope. And the Change "The One" had given them was as like

unto a poison that had destroyed then and like a whirlwind that

consumed all that they had built.

And the people beat their chests in despair and cried out in anguish,

"give us back our nation and our pride and our hope!!" But it was too

late, and their homeland was no more.

You may think this a fairy tale, but it's not.

    It's happening RIGHT NOW

Obamagedon is what I heard it called

so where were all these fiscally responsible conservatives when old Reorge was in charge

Seems Reorge started out with ( thanks to Clinton ) a huge surplus in the old treasury and immediately set about hemorrhaging cash, even set up the bail out scam for his wall street cronies.
hmmmm where have I heard this story before
    ah
the history of the fall of Rome
anyone remember a guy named Constantine, you'd be surprised at all the similarities. Basically if you ever studied the fall of the Roman empire it would have collapsed a lot earlier if not for a few good emperors ( Vespasian for one ) and not at all if not for a few complete idiots ( Constantine being a perfect example of what Obummer is doing wrong ). Vespasian took the empire from bankruptcy to new heights. Constantine took an empire fraught with financial and political trouble and, you guessed it, changed his religion and printed lots of new money, copper money which was widely considered worthless at the time.
Point being that all this wrecking of an economy has happened before
so when it comes to Obummers rule, he may wreck the value of the dollar but more of the blame for that goes to the fed than "the one's" failed economic follies. He may borrow as much money as exists in the world or more, knowing there is one very simple solution, one that the USA has used before. One the Constantine and most of the emperors used to get out of debt.
    war

Historically this way out of debt worked just fine ( except for all the dead people ) until the advent of the corporate oligarchy which mandated a concentration of the war profits at the top of some few corporate entities "contracted" to provide war goods to the military. Rather than the old school principals of putting small business's back to work producing directly for a gov. procurement office.

Frightening thing is there are bound to be advisers somewhere in the US gov that know there history. All these fools need do is just start a war "for democracy and freedom" and this time spread out the contracts for war goods rather than concentrate them in just a few large corporations.
Gets small biz going again. Puts the freedom loving american people back to work. knocks off a few of those pesky brown folks and generally makes for some great flag waving as well as economic sense. This does seem to be the basic logic of most americans

Its been the classic model for resolving economic illness for some time

its a lot easier than actually paying your debts and
no one has to admit they screwed up
sounds perfect to the basic politician

my bet is America will go to war

Oh well the pirates thread on economics has been pirated to rabid US POLITICS, which, from a distance is an amusing distraction, as "the externals" enjoy watching a good senseless murder escapade in the style of the Constantine era Romans and their Circuses, and live in hope that they do not become collateral damage :D:D::?::?:

MANIPULATION just CREATES DISTORTIONS that MUST be paid for sometime and that 'option' will create unnecessary unforeseen damaging consequences...

who am I to deprive a man the invaluable experience of learning something the hard way

and the preamble should have read
sorry Mas I thought maybe a brief lesson in the history of economic failures was more than appropriate, after all, its not like is the first time this kind of thing has happened. The Roman concept of warfare to wealth is not entirely dissimilar to the basic imperialist plan
