glass over plywood

    Forget polyester with wood.

    After your first coat of a low viscosity epoxy has become tacky, its no longer penetrating wood (its too thick by then). You can now put on your glass and wet it out with more epoxy, this way your also getting a primary (chemical) bond through out the laminate.

    What your trying to avoid is the wood “wicking” out the epoxy and leaving the glass starved. This is more a problem with fir as is sucks up more resin.
