My girlfriend and I use our 26' SeaRay a lot. We bought the boat because... well that's what everybody else has. We have a house on a river just a few miles from the Chesapeake Bay and Annapolis and are within close reach of many interesting places, so we don't need a lot of speed to get places. We anchor out often and even though our current boat has a nice cuddy, we usually sleep outside on the cockpit floor. We are more about leisure and basic comforts than noise and bling. We don't mind crazy weather if the boat can take it.
We are thinking about a different boat. Efficent, quiet and basic. Maybe something like the old Albin 28, but smaller and lighter. Maybe an outboard fishing layout would be better.
    Here are our criteria.
    - quiet
    - shoal draft
    - cockpit large enough to sleep out (no crappy sleeper seats... no molded seating)
    - safe side and foredecks
    - enclosed head
    - range of 100 miles
    - comfortable and seaworthy on the bay
    - accessible engine
Don't need to go fast, don't want lots of canvas, don't need swoopy styling.
We do travel a lot at night, so radar (and something on which to mount it) might be on our wish list.
I welcome any ideas or recommendations for a particular boat.
