Hello again! I have a question! I want to make a part in the mold! The first layer I want to be a gelcoat and then start the lamination with CSM. Can I start the lamination with polyester resin and CSM after I have applied the gel coat and it is not yet cured (let's say in the moment when I finished brused it?? I would like to do this because it has happened to me before that the styrene in the resin attacked the gel coat ? And I have another question. Can CSM be put in the gel coat in the mold?Because after demoulding I will apply epoxy resi on top of it with aluminium oxide for grip and wil be used for high trafic and abrasion and I wat the gel coat to be reinforced to!Thanks

Let the gel coat cure, the reason you had problems before is the gel coat was either too thin, or wasn't sufficiently cured.

If you don't care about the gel coat being applied as a gel coat finish for the final part, then adding glass to it is not a problem. But if you don't care about it in that way, then skip the gel coat and just laminate with resin and glass to start with.

If you only plan for a portion of it to be covered with epoxy, then don't use any glass in it.

And it's probably better to ask all these questions in the same thread, otherwise people won't know the progression of the project and everything that's taken place prior.
