I've got old anti-skid on the coachroof of my ketch. It's been filled with paint over the years to the point that it does nothing but look bad. I've had success removing it with a hammer and cold chisel, followed by random orbit sanding to prep for a new application. The downside to this is that it's time consuming. Anyone have a better method? Outright grinding is out of the question as I can't release that dust into the air at my slip. Thanks,

    Jeff

If it's a wood substrate, heat might work (wood insulates). I've had success with a powerful heat gun, gets the stuff soft, then use a 2 1/2" putty knife or such to peel. Not guaranteed to work, may depend on paint type

Does your marina have a service or work slip available? This may be your only choice, other then placing her on the hard, for a few days of elbow grease.
