I understand the idea of faster and slower engines needing different drive ratios so the propeller rotates at the optimal speed. How does one change the drive ratio of the transmission? Is it done by this swapping a gear in the transmission? I am replacing a gas engine with a diesel engine. The diesel engine will rotate at about 1/2 half the speed of the gas engine. The transmissions will connect with either engine. What do I have to modify? I do know that there will be some tinkering with the propellers, but I need to understand the gear box aspect first.
    Thanks!!
