I just bought a 30' open bridgedeck cat, 3 alloy cross beams that go into collars, had to separate the hulls to get it onto a truck and bring home. Got the crane to take the weight of one hull and made this 'slide' setup with a jack to push the hulls apart nice and parallel.

What part of the hull are you pushing on? Is there a BH behind it?

I have a cat put together with beams as well.

The timber (70 X 35) sat just above the deck to hull join, with rubber mat, pic below of the inside. I wouldn't call it a bulkhead but has been reinforced. I lifted one hull from the main/ mid crossbeam, very little deflection.

My boat I ran the beam all the way through and capped it. The joins are sealed with sealant.

The Fore and Aft beams go right through. I guess the mid beam is only partial for access.
