    It seems under-rigged. Cats have a lot of righting moment, so they can carry a fair amount of sail. However, if that is what you have, go sailing and have fun! Congratulations on your project.

    Take a look at the junk rig. Simple and unstayed. Sail can be sewn from cheaper materials. There is ablot of information on www.junkrigassociation.org and also in the book "Practical Junk Rig" that can be bought as an e-book from kindle among others.
