    Hello all,

I have used Freeship to design a simple V shaped catamaran hull.
I would like to insert a series of bulkheads and floors inside the hull and have the program tell me the hydrostatics as well as the shape of the panels.
Is there another free program where I can export my .fbm file to do this?

    Aneblanc,

Freeship can both calculate (basic) hydrostatics and unroll developable surfaces, so there is no need for additional software (as far as you do not need advanced calculations, i.e. damage stability).

To do further work on the developed panels of your hull you might want to try out DraftSight, a free AutoCAD-like 2D software.

Freeship is not really good at modeling internal structure, so you either export 2D data (sections) and use DraftSight for the detailling or you save your hull surfaces as an IGES file and use something like Rhino for the floors and bulkheads. Rhino is not free, but you can download a 90 day free trial version.
