Scantling draft calculation

    Dear Tansl

    Could you plz tell me the procedure for calculating the scantling draft for a vessel.

    I usually calculate a first approximation of full load draft, I add 15% and that is the value that I use as scantling draft.

    Thanks for your reply... I take it this as a thumb rule...15% of full load draft...

    To me that should be sufficient to provide errors in initial estimation of the lightweight or to cover weight gains (add equipment, heavier equipment, etc..) that during the project development occur. The 15% is not a standard, is an amount that, to me, is enough.
