I have had enough of this nonsense. It's bed time.
Anyone thinking of moving to Ireland - it's ******* great.
They don't like guns and that's great too.
Sailing here is fantastic ( in warmer months).
The people are relaxed and wonderfull.
Want to escape somewhere nice or sail to somewhere non threatening, this is it!
    I cannot recommend it enough.
    Ireland is fantastic all round!!!!
The most gun restricted place in Europe.
    GREAT.
    Good night and enjoy.
    (Hippies don't generally shoot people....).

I was making a valid point: I don't generally jump all over other people, and tell them what they should and shouldn't do in their own countries. But it's amazing how many of them are willing to be downright rude about telling me what America 'needs' to do.

Reality check: gun violence has been declining in the US for years-- in spite of the fact that gun ownership has been growing. That puts the lie to preposterous claims that the simple existence of guns foments crime. Otherwise, shootings would be increasing right along with the number of guns in the country.

If the crime rate's going down instead of up, don't you think there's a faint possibility we're doing something right, whether you like it or not?

And by the way: that decline in murders and other violent crime has been happening in spite of all the supposedly crazed veterans that have been 'unleashed' on American society in the last ten years.

We dont need guns for any reason

The problem as i see it is mental attatududes you stuck in old thinking . Yes you are stuck in the old days when native people were trying to protect them selves and animals also were trying to trotect them selves there the white man arrive and in all countries where he has forced himself in . hes not ever wanted to isten to reason its just take and take and keep on taking . the white man really is the scurge of the planet . He has the opinion his way is the only way and natives are dumb .The white man arrived in Americans and multiplied like flies and found he needed people to do his work so he introduced slaves snatched from there home lands like it or not ! forced to work to build the white mans country . with whips and guns the white man has forced he his dominance where ever he has gone and still goes guns were apart of all of this but as we have progressed mental attatudes have not changed . they still think its there god given right to carry guns . dumb absolutly dumb ,pea brains . WHY DO YOU THINK YOU NEED TO CARRY A GUN ANY WHERE ??? WHAT IS THE PROBLEM !! IS IT FUN ?? Its only man that kills and calls it sport !!.

Oh please.... guns don't make people crazy. Bloody combat might shove a few over the edge, especially if the rationale for it is suspect to begin with, but that's hardly the same as 'guns make people crazy.'

There are over 8 million Vietnamese-era veterans in the US. Well over 2 1/2 million of us served 'in-country.' And you know what? We didn't come home as crazed killers and sociopaths, and turn this country into South Africa or Somalia. Most of us blended back into society and went about our lives -- and we're doing just fine, thankyouforasking.

You need to back off on your unfortunate stereotyping of veterans, as well as civilian gun owners.

If you want to run around all anguished and suffering from your load of White Man's Guilt, be my guest. But don't try to offload it on me or my family, friends and neighbors. We aren't having any.

Tunnels: you are one more that learned history from watching Roots. The slaves that came here were largely bought from black slavers. Also, that has nothing to do with the right to bear arms. Also, no one here that owns guns has called shooting anyone a sport. It is only the insulting idiots in this thread that had done so. You people come up with the most idiotic reasons for someone owning a gun and then accuse us of having that reason.

That year there was almost no ducks to be shot because over hunting, many duck shooters said at least somthing happened and had a good laugh.

No ducks this year, well what about some fun down at the school?

My apologies the citizens of New town.

The last person you need to diagnose a psychopath is a psychopathy.

While gonzo is desperately trying to sound sensible he has not yet told us why he drew his gun 2 weeks ago.

The reason for this would be interesting and very valuable for this conversation. Also as he is the only one to admit to carrying a gun in the street where as Troy caresses his before bed and is probably' harmless'.

Its the street carrier that is the danger.

This hand gun 'presumably' is for killing people, thats what a hand gun is for, it was not made for bears or moose in the street of Milwaukee that we are constantly being told that this is why you need a gun.

Its like asking a child why he wants a toy, simply because all the other kids have.

Carrying a gun in the street should be charged with pre meditated murder.
