I agree...all public servants deserve respect in a civilized society. The US is plenty civilized.

If you don't respect your public servants , your police, your miltary, your courts.... then your entire system is ****.

Well there you go. When the public servants forget they are servants, but see themselves as rulers, that is when the system breaks.

Ha ha about 30 years ago.

Why dont you see that Troy --its not just US.

Im a politician , im more important then anyone else . I need a bigger car and a better house . I need better suits and better treatment with much higher wages.

Im above the law and can exceed the speed limit and drink and drive. I should be let off and I will be when I get back to the office.

    You hav'nt noticed this?

If respect is earned and I strongly believe it is then they have none in my eyes.

Of all the people I can think of, you're one of the least qualified to be commenting on the US and its government. Stick to the British Isles and Thailand, will you? Not that you probably know much about them either.....

I pay attention, Hoyt. I see an almost completely dysfunctional Congress, tied in partisan knots by Republicans determined to undermine anything Obama tries to do, and an Executive Branch that isn't wielding any more power than it was before Obama took office. If conservatives are actually so worried about misuse of executive power, I have to wonder why they voted for Bush twice.

I'm reminded of the Tea Party (Taxed Enough Already Party) masquerading as a grass roots movement, when it's obviously financed and supported by corporate interests such as the Koch Brothers. Strangely enough, it 'spontaneously' started screaming about being 'taxed enough already' after taxes dropped for most of the lower and middle class under Obama, rather than rising.

Maybe you should pull your head out of that pretty Florida beach sand instead.....;)

Your knowledge of my qualifications is as blind as your sight of your government -- I did say its not just the US but then if you saw that you would'nt be able to post your nasty comment.

I do know quite a bit about the US and its --'Government', I wish I didnt have to but with BBC CNN and all the others it blurbs out the US incompetence dragging down the rest of the world hourly.

As said I would rather not know anything about USA and its guns and fiscal cliffs and other ridiculous goals you set knowing you cant achieve.

But the US is like an Elephant in the room that we just cant get rid of,-- sh1ts all over everyone else and eats all the food and farts till we cant breath.

Violent and over reactive we cant sleep for the fear of your ridiculous management decisions seemingly unaware that what you do affects ME!!!! YES ME

Then you suggest it not my business!!! Your understanding of the rest of the world and USA involvement is typical, but then not so for some one with a menial task looking at a computer for a living.

George was troubled by that war it was much farther away than the usual scourmish with Portugal and information was little. After a non immediate result he decided to pull out as he didnt want a country that far away anyway.

You've heard the words to the song, " we fired our guns but the British kept a coming'.

George pulled out. If he had not----- Brits don't loose wars.
