Foil Design- Inverted Stacked Tee Foil-High Speed Goal

    Here is a design concept for extending the speed range of a sailing hydrofoil. It just uses a smaller high speed foil about 2 feet below the low speed foil. As speed goes up the larger foil leaves the water leaving only the lower high speed foil in the water.

    I use my blogspot as a reference because of lack of internet abilities.

    That's not exactly a new idea. Here's Alexander Graham Bell's version of it over 110 years ago!

    To all commenting on the age of the technology of stacked foils. I did say it is "old technology". I posted it because it did not appear in this forum as a used technology. It is mandatory for altering the top speed of a sailboat on foils.

    It is common knowledge and therefor NOT patentable. But if I can make a change of substantial nature I could get a patent as a derivative of this class of foil design.

    The drag of a single foiler could be altered dynamically by other means such as using aircraft flaps on a water foil. But this is complex machinery. MY patent is just a fine point in foil hydrodynamics giving maybe a few knots of free speed.
