Anyone heard of Selway Fisher?

    Hello,

    Was searching google for some professional plans similar to a boat i would like to design just to see how the experts do it.

    I found a boat by selway fisher but am unsure if they are trustworthy or not.

    Seems to be a lot of amateur designers selling plans on the net.

    Selway-Fisher is Paul Fisher, an English designer. He seems to be legit; Duckworks Magazine offers his plans in the US.

    Thats the one.

    Would use the marconi rig though, junk sails dont do it for me.

    Now , wasn`t that easier than stuffing about trying to do your own ? :D

    BTW looks like 9 mm for the hull plating....should feel like a solid sucker at 8ft long.....

    Gotta love the internet :)

    I asked him a few questions about it.

    If it holds enough fresh water i'll build it.

    Length overall seems to be bigger than 8', hopefull no more than 9 1/2.

    I think it uses multiple layers of 6mm.

    8 ft long and 50% ballast ratio....


    Your`e right 6 mm hull skin...easy bending ...;)
    50 % ballast ratio ....8 ft on/over deck....just those numbers make me want to heave ...you will be hungry all the time ....:D

    To Stoned Pirate

    why on earth would you want to build such a small yucky boat. It is totally awful and impractical. I am sure you could find a second hand 16ft keel yacht for almost nothing, and convert it to a microcruiser.

    This 8ft boat stuff is pure nonsense

    by the way, where in Australia are you, I am in Newport, Melbourne
