Floatation

Crag Cay is right. If this boat is to float level while swamped you need to distribute the flotation. The toughest part is getting enough support for the engine. It needs to be in the rear corners of the stern just forward of the transom. figure how much you need then split in two and put half in one corner and half in the other corner. Flotation for persons and gear weight should be on the sides of the boat as high up as you can put it. look at this site on level flotation http://members.aol.com/spinners/flot2.html

and what about old cork? (althogh im probably better off asking the floating neutrinos about building ocean going scrap rafts,although at the moment,it jsut needs to be coastal raft)
