Small speed boat for kids stitch and glue

Hi all I'm looking for some plan's for a small boat for the grandkids. I would like it to look like a speed boat was thinking around 5 feet long by 36 inches wide. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. Oh planning to use a little electric motor for power kids are only 3 and 4 years old.

I went googling for a neat little fibreglass dinghy called Peanut for kids that was designed by Blondie Hasler, and built in England, and I came across this peanut - which is probably more what you have in mind for your grand kids (?)

Completely opposite to the one above, in that it is for sail or oar propulsion, rather than an O/B motor.

You need to scroll down a bit on this page to find it, but have a look at the 8' Skiffle from Selway Fisher (although it is a bit bigger than your suggested 5' length)

They're too young for motors. Propeller cuts are bad for tiny hands. Stick with paddles for now.
Just a suggestion.

 

Hoyte has a valid point there Gary - maybe the easiest and simplest way of getting your kids into boating would be a small inflatable dinghy with paddles?
