    Small boats made of steel are ill advised. As previously observed above, it is ridiculously and impractically heavy. Build your boat of a good grade of ply and you will get far better results. There are ply boats that have lasted 50 years and are still going. It is not a matter f longevity. In addition ply does not rust and does not make as much noise when going through a chop.
